“…He said to the gardener, ‘For three years now I have come in search of fruit on this fig tree but have found none.’” (Luke 13:7)
We can all be like the barren fig tree at times. Do you cling to what you have, or do you generously share with others? How will you respond when God asks you what you have done with all the gifts, He has given you? Remember, not only are we called to be generous, but we are also called to develop and nurture our gifts, and return them with increase. Remember, we are called to be generous with all of gifts; especially the one that means the most to you.
Blessed Virgin of Guadalupe, Patroness of all America, Your appearance at Tepeyac began the evangelization Of the peoples of the Americas. From you was born our Liberator and Savior, Jesus Christ, Who broke for us the chains of sin and death And brings us the promise of life eternal. In these challenging times, We ask you to intercede for us, O Blessed Mother, That we might reject The idols of power, wealth, and fleeting pleasure, And instead be renewed in zeal for love Of your Son and for our neighbors. May we embrace All the peoples of Latin America As brothers and sisters of your Son, Proclaiming to them the Good News Of God’s unfailing mercy. Mary, Mother of God, Shelter us in your mantle as you sheltered Juan Diego and countless missionaries and disciples Who proclaimed your Son as God and King, And lead us to serve him With joy, love, and hope Today and all our days. Amen.
